Many of you will know me & know that I was born with a Limb difference! I wear an artificial right arm and have done for as long as I can remember.
The service I have received on the NHS has been brilliant, however the prosthetic I have at the moment is purely cosmetic. It doesn't have any use what's so ever. It's there to fill in the void.
Now I must have been terrible in a previous life, to be born with 1 hand and then to have a child with a rare genetic condition but I'd like to think I'm a good human! I try to help others where I can, I try to do good for others. And I know I've done fundraising already for Aaron and people have been so supportive. But this. This helps us both.
This is purely selfish on my part and wanting to have this wonderful hand that will change my life. It will actually function. I'll be able to hold on to Aaron's adapted pushchair properly rather than just resting my hand on it, I'll not need to hide my arm in long sleeves in the summer, or even be embarrassed to shake hands with people. I'll be able to hold Aaron's feeding tube, and grab the syringes for medications, I'll be able to tie laces!!!
The money to be raised is alot! It's £10,000! This is just for the hand, this doesn't really cover the costs of having to travel to Bristol for appointments and tests and fittings. It doesn't cover the additional glove covers, or aftercare. However once I have it; I cannot wait for it to change my life!
I'll be documenting the process on Instagram. I cannot wait to start this journey!
