Medical Expenses

My name is Amy Schaeppi. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend and Co Worker Rick Heinen. Rick is the most generous and caring person I know.

On June 8th, Rick was told that he needed to have quadruple bypass surgery. He was scheduled for surgery on June 29th. Rick tried working up until his surgery date but found that it was to hard on his body to work in the heat of the summer. Ricks last day of work was on June 21st. He then went into surgery on the 29th as planned. They had to take an artery from his left arm to help fix his heart. Being left handed, Rick is finding this very difficult for his recovery. Two weeks into Rick's recovery he ended up developing Pericardial disease. Which is fluid built up around his heart. He spent a week in the hospital and they ended up draining six cups of fluid from him. Rick is medically stable now but has a very long and difficult road ahead for his recovery.

Rick is a very outgoing person. His full time job is working in the maintenance department at All Safe Global. He also volunteers with the Almelund Fire Department and the Chisago Dive Team. He goes above and beyond to coordinate and run fundraisers for the community.

Rick and his family now faces a significant financial burden. Rick has no income. He will be out of work for at least 13 weeks and when he is able to return to work he will be on restrictions. It is unknown when he will be able to work full time again. His loving wife of 27 years is handicap and unable to work. To pay their monthly bills now land's on their three boys. The family is now facing significant medical expenses.
