Shoulder reconstruction surgery

Hey everyone, Mitch here. I’ve hesitated to reach out, but I need help.
As you may have seen if you know me, I was injured playing semi-professional football last year. I was tackled onto my shoulder, tearing all of my ligaments and fully separating my AC joint.
Despite consulting with multiple surgeons, they have all expressed their reluctance to operate on me as they feel their particular method of surgery isn’t likely to have a high success rate based on the complexity of the injury. I was told to take a year or so to see how it heals naturally, with physical therapy.
During this natural healing process not only has my shoulder not healed properly, the pain and scraping of the bones has worsened with time, significantly impacting my daily activities, abilities, and quality of life.
I’ve since been diagnosed with “distal clavicle osteolysis” which means my bone is deteriorating due to the scraping. The suggested solution is to cut off the end of my collarbone.
Thankfully, one surgeon, Dr. Struhl has offered a different procedure, and stated his complete confidence in reconstructing my AC joint without removing any part of it.
After extensive research into his method and conversations with him and his past patients that I contacted, I’ve come to the conclusion that surgery with Dr. Struhl is the solution for me. He has been the light at the end of the tunnel.
However, due to his location in New York, he is outside of my insurance coverage.
I’ve applied for medical grants to no avail, and despite his assistance to reduce the cost, I still need to pay $16,000 out of pocket for the facility, supplies, anesthesia, and surgery fee, not including travel and accommodation expenses for New York.
I am eager for the day I will be repaired and have a healthy shoulder again. I would be overjoyed by ANY financial assistance that you might extend to me to lessen the financial blow.
