My name is Anthony Reed and on Sunday November 15 a very dear friend Steve Davis suffered a massive stroke due to a large blood clot in his brain. Unfortunately the doctors determined the area of damage to the brain was too large and he was not a candidate for blood clot retrieval procedure. Because of this critical stage Steve was in CCU until 11/19 at which point was moved to a rehabilitation center. Steve is slowly progressing each day but will have an extremelly long and difficult road ahead of him.
Sudden life events such as this are devastating to all. Once Steve is released from rehabilitation center it will continue at home or offsite facility for a time yet to be determined. Even with insurance, the financial hardships that lie ahead can be overwhelming. Insurance does not factor in the lost time from work or the amount of care beyond hospitalaztion Steve and Jenna will endure. The funds raised will be utilized for hospital/ rehabilitaion expenses as well as specific needs and care Steve will require once back home.
To say the least Steve is one of the most caring, honest, and loyal friends I have ever had the honor of knowing. His attitude and smile light up any room he walks into. Even in his current state you can see that shining thru. He and Jenna have become family to me.
Your help would be appreciated more than words can say. I am doing this to help and do not want anyone to feel obligated. If you are unable to provide monetary donations it is completely understandable, keeping Steve, Jenna, and family in your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as well. The overall support thus far is amazing.
It is unfortunate that is takes a tragedy in life to really think about what is important. Please take a moment to think about how fragile life is and how it can quickly change in a blink of an eye. Be grateful for all you have and cherish your time with family and friends day after day. Thank you to all that took the time to read.
