Hi, my name is Katie Gida. I'm from the town of Newburgh, and Marlboro. My father passed away November 8th from a fire that occurred in my house on Lattintown rd, Newburgh NY. UPDATE: The tragic sudden loss of my father has devastated all of our family and friends. I would like to thank everyone that has donated to my Dad's funeral expenses. The cost of my Dad's funeral was $9254.00. There are no words to express our gratitude for everyone that has helped! My Dad was laid to rest at St.Francis Cemetery in Newburgh NY on November 12,2022. Today, we are asking for help to assist with housing. I have changed the title to our campaign from "Funeral Expenses" to "Help The Gida Family With Housing After Fatal House Fire". We are in need of a place to live as we go through the steps of re-establishing our lives. We will be using any remaining/future donations to assist my Mom, myself, and my two brothers John 13 and Michael 22 to get established into a new house. The rental house we have called home for my whole life went from our safe space to a "total loss". My Dad was the main and only breadwinner for our family. Losing my Dad has been heartbreaking and traumatic on so many levels! My mom has a heart condition and is still recovering from her most recent surgery she had on October 14,2022. She is currently unable to work. I am currently working at Adams FairAcre Farms as a cashier and going to school. My older brother Michael is working at Valvoline. We are extremely grateful for any and all the help and prayers extended to our family as we deal with this unexpected tragedy and overwhelming loss.
