On Friday August 30, 2019 Ben’s mom went right home from work as she always did. She and Ben texted and talked throughout her shift that night. When she got home she found Ben in his room unconscious. After trying to wake him she called 911 and was guided on how to do CPR. The Paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital. Ben was admitted to the ICU for an accidental overdose. He was put on Life Support. Ben’s Mom Barbara stayed at his bedside the entire time. At one point Barbara said a tear fell down Ben’s cheek, she knew he was scared. Ben fought hard, very hard! On Thursday September 5, 2019 Ben couldn’t fight any longer. His Mom Barbara and her family decided it was time to let Ben be at peace. His Life Support was stopped and Ben died peacefully with his Mom and family still at his side.
As you can imagine Ben’s Mom has a lot of expenses...medical bills, time off work, travel here to Wisconsin so his family and friends can say goodbye and funeral expenses just to name a few. She’s a single mom who lost her one and only child. That is already too much to handle. We’re hoping some but hopefully ALL of those expenses can be taken care of for her as soon as possible.

The first thing anyone thinks of when they hear the name Ben Epple is his kindness. Ben was the kindest and most caring person! On his Facebook you can read post after post of people saying what a great person he was! He LOVED hanging out with his friends. Then there’s that smile! Ben had such an infectious smile! Ben was gentle, easy going and humble. He had a HUGE heart, always wanting to help people and animals in need. There wasn’t much he wasn’t fond of, except Spiders! He HATED Spiders, all bugs actually! :)
Ben was born in Brookfield, WI on July 6, 1999. He and his Mom lived in West Allis before moving to Slinger in 2005. This is where Ben called home. In 2015 Ben and his Mom moved to Florida. There Ben worked as a Customer Service agent. He was really good at his job because he loved taking care of people.

Ben loved many people and many things. Growing up Ben wanted to be a Fire Fighter or a Police Officer. He LOVED dressing up in Super Hero costumes! Ben was always into fitness. He had an interest in Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. At one time he wanted to be a Personal Trainer. I heard a story that one night a very close friend was having a bon fire. He knew she was going to have chips and soda. So he brought a lunch box with fruits and vegetables! He had earned his Red belt in Tae Kwon Do. He didn’t like the sparring part though, which makes sense, he wouldn’t have wanted to hurt anyone. Like most young men, he loved video games. His favorite game was Battlefield Hero’s. He also collected football and baseball cards as a child. He even had his own business called “Ben’s Sport Shop”.

Ben LOVED dressing nice! Even at a very young age he loved to dress nice. He had expensive taste in clothes. Ben loved to collect top of the line Nike shoes. He wanted to buy a Mercedes Benz! He also had quite the collection of jewelry. Recently he took up an interest in precious metals, crystals and gemstones. He wanted to become a jeweler.

Ben will be missed so very much. He had an enormous impact on everyone who knew him! I don’t think he knew how important, loved, cherished, he truly was.
On Sunday October 13, 2019 there will be a Memorial for Ben here in Wisconsin. It will be at the Hartford Town Hall. Visitation will be from 1:00-4:00PM. The service will begin at 4:00PM. Although flowers are a beautiful sentiment, Ben’s Mom isn’t going to be able to take Them back with her to Florida. It would be greatly appreciated in Lieu of flowers to instead contribute to the medical/memorial expenses. THANK YOU!
