We Need a Lift!

You probably already know Noa but in case you don't, let me tell you a bit about her. Noa is the coolest kid I know! She loves video games, drawing anime-style characters, and playing with her pups! She was born with an incredibly rare genetic disorder called Mitochondrial Trifunctional Protein Deficiency which means that her body cannot process fats. This underlying condition has led to several other secondary conditions including peripheral neuropathy which has caused her to not be able to walk since the age of four. When all her stays are added together, she's spent about five years of her life in the hospital. Because of this, she has a deep love for pediatric medical workers and someday she wants to be a pediatric doctor or nurse.

Noa is now 14 years old, and over the last few years she has been growing like a weed! Out of Noa's four parents, her dad is the only one who can lift her, and that has been getting harder every day.

There is a medical device called a hoyer lift that would allow us to easily lift her into her chair, into the car, into the shower, on and off the couch, etc. Getting her a nice electric hoyer lift would absolutely change the quality of life for all three of us!

I am hoping to raise enough for us to be able to get an electric one that folds down for easy storage when not in use. This would allow even weak little old me to be able to assist Noa in getting around, which would be a huge relief to James' back! Any funds raised will be used to buy a lift and sling, and if we exceed our goal, we will use that money for other medical devices to make Noa's life easier!
