Auburn Hills Optimist Club - "Friend of Youth"

Give local this Holiday Season. The Auburn Hills Morning Optimist Club supports a number of projects and activities for youth in our community attending Avondale Public Schools. That support includes:

• Student of the Month

• Oratorical/Essay Contests

• Boys' and Girls' State (student participation in simulated state and local government)

• Lifetime Achievement and Educator of the Year (recognition of Avondale Schools teachers and staff)

• Tri-Star Basketball Event (in collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club)

• Gift Cards (provided to Auburn Hills Police Department to distribute to citizens in need)

• Helping Hands Toy Drive (in collaboration with the Auburn Hills Fire Department during the Holidays)

• Person of the Year (annual recognition for outstanding members of the Auburn Hills Police Department, Auburn Hills Fire Department, and Auburn Hills Civilian Staff)

• Financial Support to Neighborhood House, Blessings in a Backpack, and Avondale Youth Assistance

• Provide flags at the annual Auburn Hills Memorial Day Parade
