Hello, we are the Rehbehns and this is Gracie Mae.
When Gracie was three years old, her biological mother sent her to another state to live with a biological father she did not know she had.
.
One year later Gracie's biological father sent her to another state to live with his extended family. This family took Gracie in until a more permanent solution could be found.
.
In March of 2017 this beautiful girls story was brought to our attention. Shuffled around through no fault of her own, Gracie had suffered abuse, abandonment, and neglect in a multitude of ways. Michael and I knew the first time we laid eyes on her that this little girl was our responsibility, our family, our daughter.
.
At five years old, she had no parents, no tangible siblings, no homestead, no security, no trust, no childhood memories appropriate to speak of.
.
My name is Courtney Rehbehn; my husband is Michael Rehbehn and we have been blessed with four natural-born children ranging from ages 8-22.
.
We have spent the past three years praying over, loving, raising, caring, helping in healing and tending to this precious girl's needs. We are desperate to adopt her and she is desperate for a name.
.
Being that Gracie is not in the system, every legality is an out- of- pocket expense, and while we have tried, we are not in a position to finalize what this girl deserves to have. My husband is a self-employed construction worker and I an employee to a local church, but the cost for adoption is not within our means. Her dental and vision bills from years of neglect have piled up and we simply can't afford the adoption process.
.
If God has given you a heart of compassion over this circumstance and would like to give towards this little child's life, my family and I would be ever so grateful.
.
Every child should be raised in a loving home, celebrated on their birthdays and know in their soul they are cared for and that their life is both valued and important.
We remind Gracie of this daily but in the quiet of the night her deepest desire is to make legal what is in our family's heart. Our desire is to get her the best health insurance we can once she's adopted. Gracie has dental work we would like to begin to tackle. Most importantly we plan to spend every day of the rest of her life reminding her of how precious she is and how wanted she is by her forever family.
.
As of last week, we were supposed to pay $2500.00, to begin legal proceedings. This the first of many legal fees to begin this process through the court system.
The adoption can not move forward without this deposit cost being provided. Unfortunately this is not the total cost of adoption but the initial and most immediate need.
.
Would you please consider helping fund the attorney fees, background checks, court hearings and biological service fees that are required to officially adopt and give our daughter her legal name, Gracie Mae Rehbehn?
.
This adoption will grant Gracie the ability to share our health insurance. Gracie can be enrolled at school with the same name as her family. Most certainly this adoption will be a large part of granting her the security and assurance she needs as she grows and matures. Gracie will know in her heart that she will never be an outsider, cast aside or go without the love of family ever again.
.
Words will never suffice the gratitude we have for every single penny offered. With complete humility, and from the depth of our souls, we thank you today and always.
