Last year, Danyeil Townzen experienced a life changing act of domestic violence. During an argument, her (then) boyfriend drenched her in kerosene and set her on fire. After months in a medically induced coma and more months in the hospital, Danyeil is finally out and ready to rebuild her life, but she needs our help.
The Dallas Morning News recently did an article on her abuser, who was sentenced to life in prison dallasnews.com/news/courts/2019/09/13/burn-victim-s-testimony-helps-send-her-ex-to-prison-for-life-for-horrific-dallas-attack/
Though she is out of the hospital now, this horrific attack has left her life irrevocably changed. Some of the medications she takes cost over $100 per prescription. Walking is painful and mobility is severely reduced - without assistance she can only walk around 100 feet. She takes medication for her gallbladder, her heart, for neuropathic pain due to the burns, and for the nightmares and anxiety that have plagued her since this terrible attack.
Danyeil has been a friend of mine for over 15 years. She has a good heart, a bright mind, and a wonderful daughter. Any support we can give her will go a long way. She needs money to get housed (housing, furniture, kitchen utensils, appliances, food). She also needs money for medical supplies for wound care as well as prescriptions. She needs funding for transportation as it is difficult for her to walk. She also has bills from the year she spent in medical care.
Let's give Danyeil the support she needs, while some of her medical expenses are covered, she cannot work and is still in temporary housing after being released from the hospital.
