Free Nikki

Hi everyone,

first we want to say how much we appreciate all the support and help we get from you folks during this chaotic time in our lives. My wife Nikki is a trans woman who has been in the custody of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for over a year and was housed with men which directly violates SB 132 which is supposed to protect trans prisoners but it is rarely enforced. She now is in the CDCR system serving a sentence of 4 -5 years for heinous charges. Please read below for how your donations can help with basic needs for my wife and our family.

Due to gfm, more info can be found on our social media handles since this gets paused when I try to update with more specific information. my wife is being scapegoated for her past as an unhoused youth most of her life, for defending herself and others, being purposefully misgendered in the press and throughout her trial all because she chose to do the right thing.

My wife, not only the love of my life but also a mother to three radiant children. Nikki is more than this…she is a beautiful spirit and a shining light in this bleak dark world. She loves people, her community, she is compassionate and caring beyond compare. She is the type of person to hand out not only her time and her ear to someone in need but she helps the unhoused folk who survive on the streets and unfortunately for helping her community in these types of ways has made her a target of the city we live in here in San Diego.

This story is a sign of a corrupt system based on capitalism and injustice and imprisoning the weak and the poor and further empowering the elite and wealthy to continue this disproportionate socioeconomic bullshit.

Funds that you donate here will be used directly for Nikki’s needs whether it goes directly to her housing upon release or her current needs for quarterly packages full of food, cosmetics, hygiene products, writing materials, books, clothing like gender affirming options available at the facility because finally she’s housed with other trans folk now after over two years at the time of updating this.

Your funds have helped with getting her food packages anywhere from $300-$400, $200 per month added to her books of which the state steals HALF for excess “restitution” charges for “victims”, did I mention we don’t even get free texts? The state is making a killing off of imprisoning my wife…meanwhile my trans wife with MS is in and out a wheelchair, suffering from a malfunctioning heart defibrillator (functioning currently at 37% and dropping) depression and debilitating anxiety on top of having to be on constant 24/7 fight/flight response because she is bombarded by violent cops and sexual and criminal predators in prison.
