Anita’s road to recovery

Hi my name is Barbara and I’m wanting to raise funds for me and my family. On Sunday March 24th at 9pm me and my daughter Anita were on our way home from church, on my scooter, when we were struck by a drunk driver. We were knocked off my scooter and buried under and the driver kept pressing the gas to continue accelerating but my scooter wouldn’t let him. Each time he tried accelerating he would drag us more and more with him and eventually he fled the scene. He had no remorse to check on me and my daughter but by the grace of God we were going to be okay and he was caught within the hour. My daughter suffered from a leg that was broken in 2 places. She underwent surgery for her Achilles which was split open. In 2 weeks she will visit with the orthopedic to see if she qualifies for a boot and if the timing is right also for physical therapy. If not, then she will continue to keep a cast on until it fully heals the way the doctors want. We have a long road to recovery. I myself am disabled and this incident has caused me an enormous amount of pain within my body that I am now having to do physical therapy along with seeing a chiropractor. Due to all of mine and my daughters appointments and needs for assistance it has caused my husband to miss a lot of work which is now putting us in a bind for bills and we are asking for any help we can get in this time of need. My poor baby couldn’t even enjoy her Easter this year with her family running around collecting eggs, she can’t run and play tag, she can’t walk her dogs outside, instead she has to sit in a wheelchair watching other kids enjoy their childhood. No kid should ever have to go through what Anita is going through. With God by her side she has been so much stronger than I could ever imagine her to be! No amount is too small, we ask that you all please keep us in your prayers!
