Please help Jimmy!

Friends of Venice, this Saturday we ask you to help one of our own.  And to celebrate a remarkable story.  You might know him as "Townhouse Jimmy" or "Hama Jimmy".  40 years in Venice and 60 years old this week - he's not exactly sure.  Conceived in the aftermath of the Korean War, Jimmy never knew his GI father and spent his first 10 years in an orphanage.  So he made up his own birthday, Father's Day.  Adoption brought him to America.  But to a family that was part of an Iowa cult and needed laborers.  Jimmy spent the next 10 years as an indentured servant, isolated, and never taught to read or write.  Thankfully he escaped to California.
Jimmy never got a lot of breaks but he always had a ready smile, a willingness to work, (and a terrible joke). Recent severe health issues, a series of strokes, may prevent him from working again
