We lost everything to a fire

Donation protected

On May 30th at about 11 o'clock a night our shed lit on fire from what the investigators think was an electrical fire. We rushed to get our cars out of the driveway since they were so close to it and they are hybrids. The kids and the animals were still in the house by the time we moved the cars so I rushed back in there to get them out. The kids ran out as soon as I ran back in so I tried to pull the dog out but he ran back inside because he was scared. I attempted to pull him out of the house several more times but he's partially blind so he was so scared. While I was fighting with the dog to leave the front door had been blocked by fire and our porch was burning. I ran with him in my arms to the back door but he slipped out of my hands again. I knew I was running out of time so I opened the back door and moved everything away from the entrance so the animals had a way to escape. While I was doing this my daughter broke our back sliding glass door. We had two cats, one hamster, one dog & 6 chickens in the fire. We lost our dog to the fire but the investigators couldn't find our cats' bodies. A lot of the chicken's coop was melted but somehow they all survived and are currently in a foster situation. We pulled the hamster out in time and we currently have her. We are still hoping the cats escaped out of one of the open back doors but we have not found them yet. Our entire property burned except our storage shed in the back yard. There wasn't anything of value left except our cars we pulled out just in time. I only sustained a few 2nd degree burns and we all survived except Binx, the dog. Everything for our business is gone and along with it, our source of income. This amount would be more than enough to clean up the property so it won't pollute the surrounding area in Lassen County and restart our business, as well put our family in a more permanent, stable house. If anyone can donate anything to help, it makes this nightmare of a situation have hope again. We didn't have fire insurance because we couldn't afford it this year after losing so much already to the Dixie Fire...we are rebuilding everything from scratch and starting over. Anything helps. Bless you all for helping take care of my family during the most difficult time of our lives!!

UPDATE: As of 7/24/24 we've found a temporary rental and have used most all of these funds to buy inventory to keep working our online businesses...so we don't lose our income also. We've got our chickens back but still haven't found the cats. We were given a quote for 12k to clean up the burned property. We also received a bill for almost 9k from the neighbors insurance claiming it was negligence because it started from an extension cord. We have no assets other than the cars we saved and new ingredients for inventory for our business. Welfare is helping with temporary cash aid and food stamps to keep the kids fed and housed for now until we can get back to our full inventory to support ourselves again. We are trying to come up with 10k more to be able to purchase another home and expand our businesses back to where they were before, fully able to support us. We can't thank you all enough for helping us bounce back from the most devastating event of our lives. Thankfully we only lost our pets, home and belongings...and not each other. The grieving for all we've lost comes in waves. All of your support helps us get through those bad days by still having our jobs and our college classes to focus on and look forward to. We would still be homeless right now without your support. Anything always helps...thank you so much and bless you all right back!! ♡
