After years of struggling with pain my Dad was finally diagnosed with a spinal tumor. Since then there have been many uncertainties for him and our family. In and out of hospitals and many trips to the E.R.
On top of this tumor causing him to be unable to walk without assistance it has begun to cause many other health problems for him. Malignant tumors can cause blood clots and he was recently admitted multiple times for pulmonary embolisms in both lungs and a cardiac episode since his heart was under strain from the clots. Since the clots in his lungs are extensive, he is on blood thinners which are causing more health problems and more trips to the E.R. He recently underwent surgery to put a IVC filter in to catch blood clots going into his heart.
Right now he is facing a nightmare situation:
He needs to have surgery in order to get the tumor removed from his spine however he can not have surgery because of the extensive blood clots in his lungs.
He runs the risk of paralyzation if he doesn't get the tumor removed but can not get it removed while he has blood clots....which are being caused by the tumor....
You can imagine how discouraging this all is.
The only thing he can do now is stay on blood thinners, do more testing and hope the plan the Dr. has works in order to get him into that surgery later on this month.
As everyone who knows him would say my Dad is a very tough guy! He is definitely a fighter! He would never ask anyone for anything which is why I am asking for him. Because of his diagnosis he is unable to continue work. His wife Kelly has drained her sick and vacation days in having to take time off from work to be at his side through some of these very stressful hospital visits and E.R. scares. The last thing we want them to have to worry about on top off everything else is the overwhelming financial burden things like this put onto people when they fall ill. We know it won't cover everything but it will help to ease some of the strain.
If we are able to raise even just something to help them it will not only help alleviate some stress but really mean the world to them that so many people are thinking of them and care. If you are unable to donate simply joining us and sharing this page with everyone you know; your facebook, instagram, twitter and social channels. Sharing it everyday helps even more! If we just get 1,000 people to donate $6 we will have reached our goal. We can do it with your help!
