On Being Human 2020 - COVID 19 Food Drive

Obviously we are in an unprecedented moment.

Large numbers are suddenly out of work homeschooling children and unable to meet the
demands for basic needs such as food. 

The purpose of this GO FUND ME is to support families who were hit financially by COVID-19 and offer each household a one time gift of a $100 digital grocery card.  We act as a bridge between folks who are in immediate need of food and folks who are able to give a little to help them.

There are fantastic local and national food banks and other social services in place that should
absolutely be supported at this time. (In LA please visit @foreverytable ) However, we believe this to be an ALL HANDS ON DECK moment.   Lets send a one time grant of $100 grocery gift card to as many families in need across the US as possible.  For starters our goal is 400 families - $40,000.  I know we can reach this goal together.  Maybe even surpass it!

WHO WE ARE:
This whole thing was sparked by an Instagram post by Jen Pastiloff.  She wanted to connect people in dire straights for food with folks who have extra and can help. My name is Dayna Mondello. I’ve worked with kids and families for most of my life and have been feeling tremendous empathy for kids and families under pressure at this time. I was moved to action by Jen Pastiloff’s Instagram call and raised a few hundred dollars quickly and fed several families. I woke up the next day and reached out to Jen to see what more we could do. This GOFUNDME is our next step in attempting to help the largest number of people possible.

HOW WE WILL GET THE FUNDS OUT TO THOSE THAT NEED IT:

Our plan is to withdraw funds from GoFundMe to Dayna Mondello's personal Chase account  and to disperse to the individuals and  families that have passed through our screening process as soon as possible.  

Screening process:

First fill out an application through our website www.onbeinghuman2020.com.
Second, a volunteer will call you.
Third, we will get a gift card to you for groceries as soon as possible.

The intake form is now available on www.onbeinghuman2020.com (applications are currently paused while we raise more donations).  We will respond in the order received.  We reserve the right to refuse any request but hope to meet at least a small need of every single person who writes to us. 

 We will post a testimonial with a receipt and/ or picture of the groceries for every person served on the instagram hashtag #onbeinghuman2020 and on our website www.onbeinghuman2020.com

Person to person let’s help one another. We do this TOGETHER.
