The NCI St Agnes Head team.
The volunteers at NCI St. Agnes Head who undertake watches have to undergo training to a professional level in order to watch for vulnerable people on the Coastal Path and the water around St. Agnes Head. We have dealt with incidents both at sea and on land involving Kayakers, Fishing boats, Paragliders and Walkers who have got into difficulty.
As we are off the national grid, we run totally on green energy to run all the vital equipment in order to perform our watches and maintain the safety of those on land and at sea. Recently our wind turbine suffered a catastrophic failure, and our solar panels and batteries are aging and not providing the necessary power for us to operate to our normal capacity.
As a consequence we now need to replace the solar panels, batteries and wind turbine to ensure we can continue to operate and provide this vital service at St. Agnes Head. The cost of this replacement is approx. £14,000, and this will allow us to remain operational for the foreseeable future.
NCI St. Agnes Head benefits the St. Agnes local community, as well as visitors, all year round and no price can be placed upon saving someone’s life. NCI St. Agnes Head has been involved in a number of life saving incidents, and we really need support to ensure we can continue providing this valuable service.
Please support NCI St. Agnes Head, one day you may need us and without your financial support we may not be there.
