Friend stabbed. Helping with bills

After work on Sunday, around 12:30 Colin was parking his car in front of his apartment.  A guy across the street starting yelling profanities at him, about his parking job.  Colin told him to shove off and that's when the guy ran across the street with a knife.   When Colin stepped into his fighting stance his foot slipped off the curb causing his knee to buckle, and that's when the attacker stabbed him once in the back of the neck, once in the rib cage and once in the liver, the attacker ran off.   He managed to drive himself halfway to the hospital before passing out.
Colin and I valet at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma Washington. Colin is an amazing guy to work and be friends with. In our down time at the hotel we go over Martial Arts moves because he's a 4th degree black belt. He's also a world class skier and has been skiing since he was a tot. For someone to viciously attack him in the middle of the night after work is beyond comprehension. He's the kind of guy who would stop a mugger from taking your purse if he saw you in distress. 

  His rent is $1000 and utilites are around $200 and he just got out of the hospital today.  I'm not sure what the medical bill will total so I'm rounding it up to $3,000
You guys are amazing and I can't wait to get this goal met for my bro.

For what it's worth I will do on push up for every 10 dollars raised, in succession.
