Bailey's Cancer Treatment

Because 2020 needed to throw us just one more curveball...
If you've ever met me, you know just how much Bailey, my 6ish year old (yay for adoption!) pitbull mix, is my entire world. She's been by my side for almost 5 years now and is the funniest, most loving, and perfect pup a girl could ever ask for, even if just for endless conversations... she's a real talker. She's got more personality and love than most humans I've ever met and is my absolute best friend through and through.
The evening before Thanksgiving, I noticed a small lump on her back leg. After getting her into the vet as soon as possible, further testing determined the bump was in fact a cancerous tumor. We were then passed off to an Oncology Specialist in Las Vegas. She was seen this morning where we discussed various treatment paths and our best course of action, which we already began this afternoon.
While we are still awaiting results to determine the stage and grade of her cancer, our best case (which the vet and I are very hopeful is what we are dealing with) treatment plan is already amounting to roughly $5,500 with potential other factors coming into play as we progress & on top of steps we've already taken.
To give those wondering a better breakdown of where funds are going, we're looking at:
-Lymph node, abdominal, and chest ultrasounds/xrays/aspirate testing to ensure there is no further spread and we are treating appropriately
-Debulking surgery to remove as much of the mass as possible (within the next 1-2 weeks roughly)
-Electrochemotherapy to treat the remaining cancer cells post-surgery (2 treatments, 2 weeks post-op)
We are very hopeful this therapy option will cure her and result in no lasting side effects or illness. The prognosis and success rate are favorable and rather high in her case.
My heart is in a million pieces even typing this but treatment is the ONLY option in my eyes and I'll protect her fiercely, as she always has for me. She is still young and has so many more years to live out as the spit fire pitty she is. Our family is truly not complete without her.
We have amazing friends & family who are always in our corner and willing to help us in any way possible. I could never thank any of you enough and will forever be indebted for your help... even just sharing our page!
If nothing else, enjoy the photo dump of my sweetest girl. <3
