Marvin’s FIP Treatment
Donation protected
It all began when my brother and I finally achieved our dream of purchasing a home after years of financial struggles. We were excited to create a cozy haven for ourselves and our beloved childhood dogs, Rosie and Rambo. But fate had other plans. Just days before we received the keys to our new home, tragedy struck. Rosie, our loyal companion, passed away from a pancreatic mass. Rambo, heartbroken by the loss of his lifelong friend, soon followed her to the rainbow bridge. They never got to see the home I worked so hard to provide them.
Our house felt empty without their wagging tails and playful barks. But then, a tiny miracle happened. A malnourished kitten stumbled into our front yard, desperately seeking food. His fragile frame and pleading eyes melted my heart. I knew he wouldn’t survive on his own, so I made a decision: I would care for him, no matter what it took.
Marvin, as we affectionately named him, was a scared, timid kitten. At first, he’d dart away whenever I approached. But slowly, he allowed me to pet him, and eventually, he even let me hold him. One day, after a year and a half of patient persistence, Marvin surprised us all. He walked right into our house, settled onto the sofa, and began kneading his paws—those adorable “biscuits” that only cats can make.
Marvin’s transformation was nothing short of miraculous. He went from a feral stray to a cherished member of our family. His expressive eyes seemed to say, “Thank you for giving me a chance.” And so, we did. Marvin became our little ray of sunshine, filling our home with warmth and joy.
He now loves lots of cuddles. He jumps on my lap, constantly purrs, and wants me to brush his hair. Marvin has the characteristics of Rosie and Rambo combined. He is Rosie through his loud meows for treats and running to the kitchen whenever he hears any bag of food open. He is Rambo by taking lots of naps and likes getting scratched on his bottom leg.
Marvin came during a time of despair and he helped heal my sorrow. I believe that he was an angel sent from Rosie and Rambo.
So as you could imagine, we were devastated to find out Marvin has FIP. FIP is a devastating disease, and until recently was 100% fatal. There is now treatment, but treatment is long and expensive.
That is why I am reaching out for your help. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Whether you’re a cat lover, a Back to the Future fan (Marvin approves!), or simply someone who believes in second chances, we invite you to be part of Marvin’s journey.
