Video and Story of what happened to Tommy During the Marathon 

Tommy being a perfectly healthy 26 year old and finishing up Clinicals for becoming a Physicians Assistant through Central Michigan University who was set to graduate in July 2022.

He trained for the Detroit Free Press Marathon, on October 17, 2021 along with family members. He had been training for quite a few months for the 13.1 miles. At Mile 10 he collapsed from Cardiac Arrest. He was saved by 2 Detroit officers and another hero, who was also running the marathon, and gave him CPR. This act of heroism saved Tommy's life.

He was rushed to the hospital where the team of doctors and nurses had to shock Tommy's heart 2 times to bring him back. What we found out is that Tommy may have a genetic heart defect and now has a defibrillator so it never happens again. He will have mounting doctor bills to take care of and school tuition that continues; and he can not drive for 6 months due to state requirements.
