My Volunteer Trip to Africa

Donation protected
Hello Everyone!
First off, thank you for visiting my post! I appreciate that you're even taking your precious time to read this. My name is Janna and I am a second year veterinary technology student at Michigan State University. With my soon-to-be career as a vet tech my strong desire is to make a real difference in the lives of animals across the board from domestic pets to wild animals that roam the African savannah. Though I may not have grown up with pets  or have had any kind of background in understanding how to even care for them (much less wild animals) I am super passionate about being the animal's advocate and becoming skilled in all aspects of care for animals (medically, conservationally, well-being, preventative care, good nutrition, exercise, and love :)

Over the passed two years (even before vet tech school) I have wanted to travel to Africa to volunteer with a conservation program. With the help of a friend's recommendation I discovered Enkosini Eco Experience! I looked at the website, emailed the coordinator, got information and chose the project best fit for me (I wanted something with lots of hands on experience!- the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary for the duration of 6 weeks)

The Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary provides a refuge for wild animals that are orphaned and/or injured including lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, baboons, meerkats and even barnyard animals like sheep, goats, chickens and geese. They rescue the threatened animals, perform a range of health checkups and relocate them to protected areas to then care for them with proper habitat and food. I will basically be caring for these animals on a daily basis (feeding them, exercising them, loving on them, and maybe even providing some veterinary care :) I will also be cleaning, helping out with other projects and maintaining/developing the sanctuary.

I am raising money for this volunteer trip and all it's extra expenses (visa, passport, flight, personal costs/bills while I'm gone, travel insurance, items to bring to the sanctuary, research team, and community etc). I am new at this fundraising stuff and don't really like asking for money but would be extremely grateful for donations from people who believe in me and support this cause!

The $1000 will cover a large chunk of the entire cost and even if I don't raise that much, any amount will be appreciated whether it's $1, $5, $100 or more!  This means so much to me as it will further my knowledge, education, skill and experience for working with wildlife and gaining the hands on experience in general and what better way than to actually travel to the animals' native land!

I will need the funds no later than April 30th, 2016

Thank you!!! and please see the attached video for more information/background on Naankuse :)
