Brittany's Medical Expenses

Hi My Name's Ron Summers, on Sunday August 9th my Daughter, Brittany, was climbing a tree, she was about 30 feet up when some branches broke and frantically grabbing for more she ended up falling all the way to the ground landing on her heels and butt on a cement driveway. She was taken to the trauma unit at the IMC Hospital. There she was diagnosed with a broken back, the L1 and L2 were compressed to 1/2 th size blowing out the discs inbetween. Also she fractured both heels and broke the navicular bone on her right foot into 12 pieces. They Put 2 rods in her back along with 12 screws and some bone from her hip for fusion. Also a plate and 9 screws were placed in her right foot around the navicular bone with 9 screws and some bone was taken below her knee for fusion as well. Brittany is 23 years old and does not have insurance, she was told that she didn't qualify for medicare or medicaid. She has been instructed not to walk or put any pressure on her feet for 3 months. Just the rental on the hospital bed, the wheelchair, commode and slide board is $411 a month. The pain meds and blood thinners she is on is $668.71 for a 20 and 14 day supply respectively. I haven't even got the bill for the surgeries yet but I'm sure they are astronomical. I'm a disabled Vet on Social Security, I was diagnosed with liver cancer 3 years ago with a 3 to 5 year life expectancy, of course they are not the boss and no one really knows how long I will live.
