Help me make some memories with my children
Donation protected
Hi. I thought id update you all on my fundraiser following my cancer journey.
Before diagnosis, i was a full time carer for my son who is autistic. I have had to be his advocate and support his needs.
I never expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2022 (also lymph node) but told in January it had spread to both lungs and the bone. I am on a tablet form (Ribociclib) with ongoing Hormone Replacement Therapy but this will only slow it down. It is incurable and inoperable.
I have fought this battle hard, and have chemo ongoing, frequent CT scans, and i hope to outlive my 4 year prognosis for the sake of my children. They are unaware of my diagnosis as my daughter is still 4 years old.
I now worry for my childrens future without me in it, i have a funeral to pay for, and memories to compress in a short time period.
I previously spoke to national newspapers radio interviews, and charities about a breast cancer campaign to raise awareness of the mammogram age in the UK, but sadly whilst they are aware of the mammogram age and the statistics of breast cancer, it needs a lot of money or a famous face to publicly raise awareness. It comes a time when our time is important and i dont want my children remembering me on a laptop for hours trying to get my voice heard.
I have also taken public interviews down due to frequent misquotes, and the fact my children need sufficient privacy at this time. Various photos of them were published without my knowledge or permission previously.
That said, i am grateful for your donations. They have helped us fund many special memories. There are some that dont cost money, picnics in the park, day to the beach etc but i will have to prepare myself soon for memory boxes and a special trip if i am able to.
