Ask First! Consent Education Event
In November 2017, as an alternative to having a traditional birthday party, Irie Page, age 13, created a free consent education event at Portland State University for 520 teens and parents. In 2018, Irie created a team of high school students called Coalition For Consent Education (CFCE) and together they are hosting month-long awareness and education campaigns in their high schools in April in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 9 area high schools are participating (so far!) The month-long campaigns will culminate on April 27th with a FREE community consent education event with globally recognized educator Mike Domitrz of The Date Safe Project.
CFCE is working locally with Call To Safety, a non-profit resource for sexual assault and sexual and domestic violence.
Proceeds in excess of event fees and expenses will directly benefit our non-profit partner and other local resources supporting survivors and prevention education.
Please support these teens’ efforts to bring this vital, foundational education about healthy relationships, stereotypes, power inequality, consent, respect, and much more to the Portland area. We are working to reach 1000 teens with this event!
