Kevin's medical fund

Kevin is our youngest of three sons. I was there at his home the day of his accident on October 3rd. We had been working hard cutting trees and loading logs into trucks and trailers to bring to his Uncle's home in Taylors Falls, MN.
Kevin was struck by a 40' tree that was cut down. He was pinned by the tree and was yelling in immediate pain. I called 911 and within a few minutes first responders arrived on the seen. It was determined that Kevin needed to be flown to Regions Hospital ER right away. He was placed into an ambulance and driven to the end of his dirt road for the awaiting helicoptor, I then drove my truck to hospital and met my son in the ER where he had been for just a few minutes.
A portable X-ray was completed as well as many digitial X-rays, an 3D images and it was found that Kevin's pelvis had been broken in multiple places and surgery was required. Kevin also broke two bones in his lower lubar region of his back.
Kevin's surgery took over 5 hours and he was in post operation recovery for 6 hours.
Kevin was in the hospital for 11 days. The doctors say Kevin has a long road of recovery ahead. However because he is only 22 years old he will get better faster than a person much older. Kevin has several steel plates and more screws than I can count holding his pelvis together and will not be able to walk for at least 3 months and only limited mobility for another 3 months after that.
Full and/or maximum recovery will take up to 12 months.
This is extremely difficult on Kevin as he is worried about getting better, all the bills and the fact he is a recent new homeowner. He does not want to lose his home. His employer has assured Kevin that his job will be there when he is ready to come back to work.
Kevin has health insurance that will cover some of his medical expenses, however not all. He does not have disability insurance as the company he works at. Rational Energies is small and does not offer this type of insurance at this time.
Kevin's brothers, Jason and Ryan have really stepped up to help their brother!
As Kevin's parents we are shocked that this happened to our son and he is now being cared for in our home. We are raising money to help Kevin with his on-going expenses as well as the many hospital, doctor and clinic bills that Kevin's insurance will not pay. Kevin is determined and working very hard with occupational and phyical therapy to return to his normal life as soon as possible.
Money raised will be used as soon as provided to pay Kevin's bills. He is a good, honest and hardworking young man who now at this point in his life needs a helping hand.
Both is mother and I as Kevin's parents are very proud of our son and all that he has accomplished at only 22 years old. Kevin is a great son and has always been there for family and friends. He is not used to being on the receiving end and loves to give of himself to others. Please find it in your hearts to assist Kevin with your donations and help us bring Kevin back to where he was prior to his accident.
We wish to THANK each and every one of you that can donate to Kevin and help him return to a "normal" life.Kevin's gofundme
