Hi, my name is Jade and this fundraiser was created to help my mother, Marlene Plummer, recover from her home being caught on fire due to children in a neighbors shed May 10, 2023 . For the many that know Marlene, you’re already aware that she is a beacon of strength and selflessness. She strives to bring joy to everyone around her and is never one to bring anyone else down. She is a loving, caring, intelligent, resourceful, fun, and supportive person who would drop anything for those in need — loved ones and strangers alike.

Today we’re calling on the community to lift her up with support while she and her family embark on one of her greatest challenges yet, the loss of her home. The children that set my childhood home ablaze, a house my mother has renovated and made a home over the last 12 years has been hard to cope with. Although multiple of my family members were inside of the home at the time of the fire, we are so blessed that everyone made it out of the house unscathed before the fire spread. However, my mother is left to grieve the loss of all of her possessions, childhood photos, medications, and important documents.

While we are thankful that we are in the process of rebuilding our lives/home soon, we are still in need of immediate funds to help bear the weight of this. She has been facing some challenges lately with her own health, causing her to take some time off of work to navigate it, all while tending to my elderly grandmother.

With her not having much disposable income in such short notice, any funds sent will first go towards:

- Temporary housing - Clothing

- Food

- Houseware

While we are eternally grateful for any monetary assistance, we would also greatly appreciate all prayers and well wishes for my family. Along with any other support you may seem fit. My mother has always been generous with her home and heart, I hope she can rely on others' generosity in her time of need. Please contribute anything that you can to this fund in an effort to support Marlene in alleviating the financial barriers involved with the loss of her home/all of her possessions. With the burden of financial stress mitigated, my family would be able to better focus on healing and slowly recouping what we have lost.
