The Islamic Society of Central Virginia is in dire need of security updates. With the increasing rhetoric against Muslims, our need to increase our security is greater than ever.
On 5/6/2019, there were 3 ladies walking toward the mosque on Pine St for prayers when a car briefly swerved toward one of them and then quickly changed their direction and swerved away. The second incident happened on the night of 5/9/2019 when we had a near hit and run incident right outside our mosque after prayers. Although our community and neighbors are generally very welcoming and hospitable, there are people who are just the opposite, as we saw yesterday and in the protests nearly 2 years ago that made headlines worldwide.
During this blessed month of Ramadan, we appeal to you to help us in securing the only mosque in Charlottesville. Your donations will not only help secure our mosque, but it will keep all of our programs running without any worries. You will be contributing to the safety of our children and community members in all of these programs:
