Raymon has been having trouble with mobility and numbness/weakness in his legs for 4-5 months. He's had back pain and some other things going on that led us to see a Chiropractor on Saturday. When we got to the Chiropractor we had a normal visit. We went through all the symptoms and pain that Raymon has been experiencing. The Chiropractor ordered an MRI and we were going to have a follow up appointment this Wednesday. About 2.5 hours after we left the appointment we got a call from the doctor. He said some of the symptoms Raymon described gave him great concern so he consulted with a neurosurgeon friend of his. They both recommended that we go straight to the ER. They thought we were dealing with something far more serious than a common chiropractic issue. We arrived at Medical City Denton on Saturday around 3 PM. After a battery of test and more test we were informed that Raymon has a mass located in his spinal cord at T11 and T12. It currently measures 2cm x 1cm. He was admitted to the hospital and will remain here until we determine a course of action. Right now there are a few possibilities as to what could be happening. 1. Raymon has an inflammatory disease such as multiple sclerosis that is causing these problems. 2. A benign mass that will be surgically removed. 3. Some sort of spinal cancer. So, he's going to have a spinal tap today to test for option 1. If they don't find any inflammatory markers to indicate inflammatory disease then he will have surgery to try and remove the mass. Upon removal they will do a biopsy to see if it's benign or not. So, for now we wait for results from the spinal tap.
