Aid for Ashley
Ashley’s Story: First, thank you so much for being here. Our beloved friend, Ashley, and her precious four young children Mikaela (12), Jadyn (9), Taylor (7), Adrian (5) need our support. In October 2019 Ashley was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. Ashley is a single mother in her 30’s and is currently fighting for her life and hoping for a miracle. Unfortunately, Doctors has given her a 6 month lifespan. Amongst dealing with this uncertainty she’s still trying to keep a roof over her and her kids head, food on the table and the utilities paid. What we all know as merely the bare necessities to live. To make things worse, her vehicle was recently repossessed during the Christmas Holiday with gifts that were left inside leaving her and her kids with an unplanned and joyless Christmas. Ashley does not have the funds to retrieve her vehicle and no transportation to get to and from treatments nor to provide for her kids to gather personal and household essentials. Ashley’s passion is cooking! She trained In New York at one of the best Culinary Art Schools in the world, after landing her dream job as a chef at the National Harbor, she could no longer work because of insurance issues and her deteriorating illness therefore Ashley’s world turned for the worst at that point. Can you imagine the sacrifices she’s made for her life and her children knowing it means life or death, all the while trying to smile and not show them your illness, your pain meanwhile the days are getting worse from stress and struggles added to your situation. They say it’s a certain way your supposed to eat with this aggressive illness but she can barely afford to buy food better yet the proper diet to gain strength and nutrients. For those unaware of who Ashley Hawkins may be. Until Sunday, December 27th I had never met Ashley myself. She is my relatives next-door neighbor, I had only heard several stories about her but hearing about her van getting repossessed and more detail about her declining health I sprung into action to reach out. Have you ever recently met someone and felt like you connected with them in such a way that’s unforgettable? Ashley is that person. My heart broke to have to meet her under these circumstances but I believe God placed me where I needed to be. My heart ached even more to see the pain on her face but her kids made it all better once she introduced us. Ashley is am amazing woman with a pure heart but she can’t do it alone and need our help to come together to make her life count. We are Ashley and Ashley’s kids are our kids. We're asking for help for uncovered medical expenses, day to day expenses and assistance to help care for the needs of the children. Sincerely, Friends of Ashley
