Jimmys road to recovery

Hello my name is James Mendala I’m 23 years old am I need a kidney. As of February 8th of 2022 my life changed. I got really sick thought it was just a body cold until I almost passed out an started puking up blood. I got transported to Harrington hospital via ambulance got there they did immediate blood work on me within an hour I got the worst news of my life my kidneys weren’t working and my blood count was so low I needed 7 blood transfusions. Harrington told me my case is so severe they can’t do anything for me there they will be transferring me to Beth Israel hospital in Boston. Got to Boston with everything going on with Covid I couldn’t have my mother father or my pregnant girlfriend come see me til everything settled I was so scared. Beth Israel admitted me immediately did a lot more tests put a tube in my chest so they can start dialysis right away. They then sent me to the icu where I spent a very long 6 days first day I had a very bad reaction to the treatment that they started so that made it harder for my treatments. Going on mid February I started to get better so they transferred me over to my own room was able to start seeing my family. February 18th my girlfriends water broke told doctors an they didn’t wanna let me leave because I wasn’t in any condition to leave nor have out side dialysis treatments set up. Horrible news to any father so I talked to the doctors even more they agreed to let me go see my son get born. Ever since it’s been a stressful struggle by being gone every other day for dialysis to trying to be there for my son an girlfriend. Doctors won’t clear me to work because I’m not stable enough my girlfriend can’t work because she stays home to take care of me and my son there’s days I can’t get out of bed. I have now also been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea life’s not easy an don’t like asking for help gotta swallow my pride an ask for assistance.
