Help me get my first motorized wheelchair!
Hi! My name is Renee. I have Cerebral Palsy. And I've come to you today to ask for help funding a motorized wheelchair !
Last year I started attending conventions on my own. I learned very quickly that it's incredibly difficult for me to push myself in a manual wheelchair for long periods of time and for long distances. There's convention halls that have rug areas. Those areas are hard on my hands.
Attending conventions aren't
my only reason why I need a motorized wheelchair. It would do so much to help with my daily life. Going out to get groceries, going to doctors appointments, as well as going out into the community. Despite how close handicap parkings tend to be, rolling around big areas is incredibly painful on my little hands.
Now, you're probably asking
why I don't have a caregiver or having someone come with me. There are two answers for this. First: It's really hard to get someone to come with me for every little thing I want/need to do. The second reason is that I strongly want to keep my independence. Being able to go out to run errands, to go to conventions, job hunting, doctors appointments and so on.
Now, I want to conclude this by saying thank you for taking the time to read my request. I know that there are many people in need of help. And I really appreciate it. I hope that you have an awesome day!
