Help Dana Fight Ovarian Cancer
After several appointments & visits to doctors, Dana was told a wide range of diagnosis from UTI’s, acid reflux, lactose intolerance, heartburn & the list goes on. It took Dana a year & half from the day her symptoms started when she was officially diagnosed. On 11/6/19, Dana went in with extreme swelling in & all around her abdomen. She was told a week before it was a bladder infection. Her doctor finally ordered a CT scan. Long & behold, they found a 11x13x11 solid malignant mass on her ovaries. After a biopsy a few days later, she was told the news that no one expects to hear...."You have CANCER.” Dana was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Grade Metastatic Ovarian Cancer.
Dana is currently undergoing chemo. Surgery is not an option until they can shrink the tumor. If they can shrink it, they will try to remove what they can. Although the prognosis is very low. If chemo doesn’t work or other drugs to shrink her tumor, they cannot operate as the risks are too high. If this happens, then Dana will go on hospice to stay comfortable. Her doctors said a year at best is where she is at right now. The good news is that at her last chemo appointment, her numbers went from 3783 down to 1300. To be considered for surgery, she needs to be at 35. Her next chemo appointment is this Friday the 31st, which is also her birthday.
Her beautiful daughter, Kylie turned 5-years-old on Thanksgiving. Dana has not been able to see her daughter in awhile, which has been heartbreaking for her. She cannot work, so there’s no income coming in to support her & Kylie. As you can imagine, financially it’s been hard.
No one could ever imagine going through what Dana is currently enduring. This is something I wanted to put together for Dana, as she could use your help.
