Remembering Tonya Morris
My sister, Tonya Lachelle Morris, born November 30th, 1977, touched many lives.
We were 8 years apart, so she helped our single mom raise me. She had been battling with her weight for many years, but recently had made strides, losing more than 100 pounds and working toward a healthier lifestyle. She was told by doctor's that she would never have children, but God sent us a miracle. She left behind a gorgeous little girl, my niece, Jordyn (aged 2 years). Jordyn was her heart and her everything; she gave Tonya a new lease on life.
Tonya also was very active in her church, Living By Faith Christian Ministries, of Virginia Beach.
She was in and out of the hospital for the last three months dealing with fluid in the body and symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure, my sister’s heart was just not strong enough to keep her alive. She passed away peacefully, but suddenly, in her sleep on the morning of August 12, 2018.
Tonya was a very loving and generous person with a beautiful spirit; everyone that knew her loved her. She loved to have fun and was known for making people laugh with her sassy/diva sense of humor. The night before she passed, she was at our cousin’s wedding reception texting her aunt and cousin in Maryland, who couldn’t be there, giving them a play by play about what all the crazy drunk people were doing. That was her - enjoying the moment and cracking people up. She also had a great family of support at her place of employment, Sentara General Hospital, where she worked for 18 years.
It’s well known that funeral and burial services aren't cheap. All donations, small and large, are accepted with great gratitude and appreciation and will go towards funding Tonya's funeral services, burial and other related expenses. If we are blessed enough to receive enough to cover those expenses, the remainder will be used for the care my beautiful niece, Jordyn.
My mother, Jordyn and I do greatly appreciate any contribution that is given.
Thank you for visiting, love your family, and be Blessed.
