AHPROFHA Free Mobile Health Clinic

This Fundraising Campaign is being organized by Dr. Lynchy Lezeau MD (Emergency Medicine) and Dr. Maykel Desir MD (Family Medicine-Sports Medicine) on behalf of AHPROFHA. ▪︎Mobile Community Clinic seeks to address the medical care discontinuity, triggered by the COVID-19 Pandemic. ▪︎AHPROFHA (Association of Health Professionals of the Franco-Haitian Ministries) of the Greater New York Conference is a faith-based non-profit organization, that was founded in November of 2019. Our God given mission is to promote health equity by providing free quality services to the residents of NYC ▪︎We organize monthly mobile clinics at different churches within our conference and our services are not only open to church members but also focused on providing services for the surrounding communities at large. ▪︎As you already know, NYC has been the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought the issue of health disparities to the forefront of our national consciousness. Unfortunately, our organization has been struggling to bring back the mobile clinic, expand our services, and address the lack of access to healthcare that was exacerbated by this pandemic. ▪︎Many individuals have lost their insurance due to unemployment. Many primary care physicians have been forced to close their doors and some prominent providers in the community have tragically passed away from COVID-19 complications. ▪︎The Haitian community lost two of its most well-known Flatbush-based doctors, Dr. Brédy Pierre-Louis, and Dr. François Hebert Brutus, who were on the front lines of the fight against the new coronavirus. This tragedy has left many patients without a primary care doctor, leading to an interruption in the care of their chronic conditions. ▪︎AHPROFHA seeks to address this  discontinuity in management of chronic illnesses which further increases the risk of complications of COVID-19 infection among the black and LatinX communities. ▪︎We are in need of new equipment as we expand our services in order to better serve the community. ▪︎We need laptops, EMR, Electronic thermometers, Otoscopes, Pulse Oximeters, Mobile Vital Signs Stand, Standing Scale, First AID Kits, PPE, Hand Sanitizers, etc. ▪︎Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, dentists, social workers, psychologists, and volunteers are dedicated to meet the needs of our community.
