Aaron MacEachern-Flatts Art Dream
Donation protected
Hi there- my name is Ted and I am one of Aaron's good friends.
Last February, during the early stages of COVID, Aaron started to draw. With no formal training, he used his phone and a dollar store stylus and began creating bold and colorful images and whimsical narratives. Mid-year, he decided to turn this hobby into a career path and created a business, COREpix. What started out as an outlet for stress and relaxation, and a form of creativity, turned into something much more than that. His business model, set to launch mid 2022, will feature collections of his art, upcoming emerging artists, an online e-commerce retail space and a full offering of all forms of media - print, digital, audio, visual and art, along with a collaboration with with other artists and a dedicated bursary to help other aspiring LGBTI2S individuals who share the same dream as him. He has spent a great deal of time this past year developing his style, trying various forms of mediums, and creating a body of work.
One of the biggest challenges has been the technology and software he has been using to create his work. The program he has been using does not sync and save files to a cloud, but merely to the device. With several lost and broken phones this past year (7 to be exact) - he as a result, has lost a great deal of work, which unfortunately he will never retrieve.
So, instead of him using a free downloadable program from the app store and his phone and a dollar store stylus, I've decided its time he have the proper tools, to let his art shine and head in the direction I believe his art can go. I've watched Aaron when he draws, I must admit, its a different Aaron than we are all used to seeing. He is relaxed, at ease and melts into the drawing. I can see why he has used it as a tool to better himself.
I've found a drawing tablet that is affordable and still offers all of the functions he is looking for - and I have also been able to source a used MacBook pro, the amount listed as my fundraising goal should more than cover the two items, any additional will be used for a printer, the last of the essential items for his working space. I wanted to wait until after Christmas (although this is his Christmas gift) to find the best deals possible.
If you are receiving this message, it is because you have been identified as someone important in Aarons life, and regardless of your ability to donate to the fund, just knowing that he is on a creative path is important as well.
