Abigail’s healing journey
Donation protected
Hey, this is Taylor and Tosh Clements, we are setting up this GoFundMe for our sister Sara and her family who need help covering expenses due to a medical emergency involving their youngest daughter, Abigail.
Our daughter Abigail was injured while helping out on our farm. Her two fingers are currently going through a trial period to see if they can heal without amputation.
The morning of Thursday 6/6 we were doing our usual morning chores, milking the cow, cleaning out the calf’s pen and feeding the pigs. Leia and Charlotte were working hard laying fresh straw down for Sunny our bull calf while Abigail was playing in the garage. I was cleaning out our milk cow Daisys pen while the milk pump was milking her out. I heard a loud scream from Abigail in the garage and when ran in she was on the ground and had clearly gotten her two fingers stuck in the milk machine motor. Living somewhat rural it was a quick decision making and call to dispatch to go meet our local volunteer emergency services for a faster transport. We arrived at the central peninsula hospital where it was quickly apparent that she would need pediatric surgery which is in Anchorage which is 150 miles away. We were then transported from ambulance to airplane back to ambulance to Providence Hospital in anchorage where Abigail was quickly taken back in to surgery. She is missing bone and has fractures and very damaged skin on her fingers. The surgeon did what she could to keep the fingers intact. Next week we will see if any growth, healing, circulation has started. If not her fingers will be amputated. We are very blessed to have a community of friends and volunteers to make it possible for us to have gotten to the hospital safely. We are asking for help to cover medical and general expenses while Clay is out of work and Abigail continues to receive medical care.
