Help with expenses for kidney& pancreas transplant

Hi I’m creating this fundraiser to help raise money for Willie boykin who was diagnosed January 7,2023 with life changing news that he is in stage 4 kidney failure due to the diabetes at that time his GFR was 25 it’s now 15 and a week later we also received news that willie also has diabetic retinopathy in his left eye we are trying our best to stay positive during this time. Currently mardasha boykin is the only one that’s able to work and all financial support falls on her willie has been denied disability and can’t appeal his case because he has exhausted his appeals but just recently we’ve learned that he will have to have surgery to get a fistula (connecting the artery and vein) to prepare for dialysis

willie is currently getting added to the transplant waiting list for a pancreas and kidney once one becomes available we will have to stay at least 50 miles from UAB hospital in Birmingham for 4 to 6 weeks UAB has recommended that we come with between $5,000 -$10,000 The funds will be used to cover room and food and medical expense for surgery depending on how his body responds to the procedure and also how long it will take to heal considering that since he is diabetic his body will heal slower than a typical person. also this means we will not have any income coming in for a while to pay our bills so we have decided to ask our community and family and friends for a helping hand and to help take a little stress off our shoulders in this time
