Aiden's Army

Donation protected
Many of you know a Lieutenant on my Fire Department,  (East Brookfield Fire Dept) Lt. Aaron Los. Last month, Aarons wife, Chrissy, noticed blood in their young sons urine. Concerned, she adamantly pushed his pediatricians to do testing on Aiden. It was discovered that Aiden had a large tumor on a kidney, and was going to have to have it removed immediately.

Three weeks ago, we got the news that Aiden (18 mos old) might have a Wilms Tumor. This is what New England Patriots' Nate Solders son is also suffering from.

He successfully had his kidney removed, and while recovering from surgery, it was found that it was not actually Wilms, but a more rare form of cancer called “Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor “, or MRT for short. (http://www.dana-farber.org/Health-Library/Childhood-Rhabdoid-Tumor.aspx) MRT is is an EXTREMELY aggressive, rare form of kidney cancer that usually effects babies and toddlers.

Aaron is a 3 time Combat War Veteran in the US Army. He is a hard worker at his full time job, serves on our Fire Department, and is still an active soldier in the National Guard. He and his wife married later in life, and after many years of trying, finally conceived their only child, Aiden.  Aiden’s’ life is a miracle, and this diagnosis is devastating.

Last month, before Aiden’s symptoms appeared, they put a deposit on their first family home. They are supposed to be closing at the end of November, but now have other things to worry about. Our whole department has stepped up to fix up, clean, paint and move them into their new house once everything has gone through. We are all cooking for them, and supporting them in any way possible. We are currently selling Aiden's Army shirts, wristbands and pins to help the Los family. This fundraiser will be held until the products sell out. We have them or can order them through the East Brookfield Fire Dept, (508) [phone redacted]

As of December 1st, Aiden is currently undergoing both Chemotherapy and Radiation.  Aaron and his wife Chrissy will possibly be staying at the Ronald McDonald house (when a room is available) while Aiden goes through chemotherapy and radiation.  Its going to be a long, slow process. Unfortunately, Aaron will be missing work and still need to pay for rent, a new mortgage, and all of the household bills, gas to get to and from Boston, hotels as needed, food and other daily necesseties.

The East Brookfield Fire Dept is committed to helping "our" family, and pray that you will find it in your heart to help as well. Monetary donations would be great, but we also understand that it can be tough during the holiday season. Prayers are also accepted!! Please share this with everyone you know. Our little guy needs all of the help he can get!
