Post 3 was established in Ketchikan, Alaska, in 1919 before statehood. The post has served Veterans and the community of Ketchikan for over 100 years.

Although the building, historic documents, and irreplaceable military memorabilia have been lost, the American Legion stands strong because of its members and mission. We will come together and rebuild! We will continue “to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy.”

Please help Ketchikan rebuild what took Veterans generations to build. Thank you for your help reviving part of Alaska’s history.

Why Post 3 needs your help:
Being on a island in Alaska adds to the difficulties of rebuilding. Although the building was insured, the climbing cost of barge services, building materials, equipment, labor, and construction will not be fully covered by insurance. Your donation will help bring Post 3 back.
