Alex Hawks (26) failing heart
Donation protected
This is Alex. He is 26 years old and has survived two Widowmaker heart attacks which only has a 5% survival rate and he has managed to beat the odds twice. A widowmaker heart attack is when the LAD becomes fully blocked and the heart muscle can no longer receive oxygenated blood. Alex was an apprentice electrician when he suffered from his first heart attack. He was no longer able to work due to the fact that his heart was only working at 38%. He tried working in marketing to try and get by to pay his bills, but it was too much stress on his heart and he suffered from a cardiac episode, which lowered his heart to 35%. He eventually had to leave work so he could focus on strengthening his heart. 8 months later, he suffered his second widowmaker heart attack. It lowered his heart working at only 20% now. The doctor is prescribing him to wear a defibrillator vest should his heart ever stop. This is the last step before a heart transplant. He is at a very high risk for sudden cardiac death. Since he doesn’t have a job, he no longer has insurance. He has been denied disability once and he is trying again. It can take up to two years for it to go through. He is needing help in paying his medical bills and living expenses in the mean time. He has already acquired a $50,000 medical bill. If you have change to spare, every little bit helps. Even if it’s simply just sharing this. It would mean the world to him.
