Urgent liver shunt surgery for Alfie
Donation protected
Alfie is a 2 year old Shih-Tzu who has been diagnosed with porto-systemic Liver shunt (genetic disorder). He was sold to my brother without knowledge of this.
Alfie has been in lots of pain and admitted with bladder stones. He has already had two surgeries this year in March and August 2024. Despite being on medication and prescription diet, Alfie got blocked again on Christmas Eve, and now needs urgent Liver shunt surgery next week.
My brother is generous, loving and supportive parent, who has provided Alfie with an excellent home. He did everything right, from medications to grooming to diet. He got PetPlan insurance early on to ensure he’s able to support Alfie in rainy days. Unfortunately, he has used all his pet insurance, and the annual cap renews in April 2025. He has spent over £5k in March 2024, followed by £12k in August 2024 for the two surgeries. While the insurance for life came in handy, he had to spent most of his life savings, and has now reached the limit.
My brother is very independent, and doesn’t ask for help. He has done the best he could, but now he can’t find more money to help poor Alfie. Our last hope is go fund me. Please give what you can.
You can find Alfie on Instagram and follow his progress @Alfie_ayaz
