Help Amanda bring home a new Service Dog
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amanda Fontenot, and my service dog’s name is Bandit. I am raising money for my next service dog, which will also be a standard poodle! Service dogs have A LOT of costs associated with them. Not only the cost of the puppy itself but also vet care, food, gear, and especially training! My goal right now is just to raise the money for the puppy itself, and any amount over our goal will go towards these other costs.
Bandit turned 10 years old on June 15th. I didn’t know how emotional I would be with Bandit hitting double digits, but I cried I was so sad. Bandit has been my lifeline for these past 10 years. I got Bandit as a 12 week old puppy to be my psychiatric service dog. I took him through many a dog training class as well as private lessons. He was trained to interrupt anxiety or panic attacks as well as to interrupt crying spells. Bandit learned to put pressure on my body to calm my nervous system, which is called deep pressure therapy (DPT). Bandit can redirect repetitive behaviors and help ground me with tactile stimulation. While other things around me were changing, while my medications and treatments were changing, Bandit has always been there as my rock. Bandit is a phenomenal service dog, and I hope my next puppy will learn from him as much as from me.
My goal is $3k, which will cover the cost of a well bred standard poodle puppy. If you would like to help us out there are a few things that you can do: donate directly, purchase a rosary or rosary bracelet from my Etsy shop, or simply share my story with your family and friends. I hope to have ann Amazon wishlist later, too! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
