Amanda's Fight against Leukemia
Amanda Brown is a 28 year old mother, daughter, fiance', grand-daughter, niece and great friend to many as well as a huge animal lover. She has always fought, worked hard and struggled to make the best life possible for her and her 5 year old daughter, Abby. Unfortunately Amanda has just started the most important and toughest fight she will ever face in her life and SHE NEEDS OUR HELP!
Amanda was recently diagnosed with ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA or AML.
ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow with excess immature white blood cells. AML progresses rapidly, with myeloid cells interfering with the production of normal white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. Treatment depends on the stage; including chemotherapy, other drug therapy, and bone marrow transplant.
Cancer of any kind is no joke and this one is is particularly bad but the good news is it was quickly diagnosed and Amanda is getting incredible treatment at St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Center in Indianapolis. Amanda has already started her fight in the first week with multiple blood transfusions, steroid treatments and an intense, high dose Chemotherapy using anti cancer drugs to destroy cancer cells and help Amanda kick this cancers ass!
Of course this is just the beginning of a 30-90 day intense treatment where she is going to have some up's and downs and struggle because she will not be able to see her daughter Abby for the whole time due to risk of infection and her weakened immune system. Amanda's a strong girl and we all know she is going to win this fight but she really, really needs our help now to WIN!
Your generous donation will be used to offset all the additional costs and expenses associated with Amanda winning this fight to help her focus on her treatment, not her bills. Her fiance' and Abby's dad, John is supporting her incredibly by working overtime time to cover the bills, taking care of the house and animals, while constantly making the over 2 hour drive to the hospital in Indy AND still providing a loving, stable, comfortable and supportive place for Abby while she's away from her mom.
We would be grateful for any amount you are willing to donate so please help.
