My Amber

With Amber's cancer diagnosis, it became apparent as to why she was so weak when doing simple tasks. Or doing much of anything for an extended amount of time.  After changing to a desk job, it still became a reality she could no longer continue working.   The pain and treatments were taking their toll.  Amber did do a Candy Bake Sale for the holidays, which did very well, but even that was very difficult to accomplish with lack of strength and being tired from the chemo treatments. And now, we have depleted our savings and could use additional financial help.
    She is putting up a good fight.  Her motto has become, "I'm not dying of cancer, I'm living with it." She has been an inspiration to many who know her.    Amber would say, she was excited to go bald and to be able to have fun with wigs, which has become a challenge with her ever changing hair, it's hard to keep track of her sometimes.  Each of her wigs gives her a different look, And she is enjoying every minute she can.
    Amber is receiving treatments at one of the local hospitals under the direction of the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City. 
It's almost been a year since the discovery and currently both available treatments for her cancer have been unable to stop the growth. She now will be going to The Huntsman to begin drug trials.  Hopefully they will find something to halt the cancer growth. With the new perspective on life, she wants to see the world. Financially, that may be difficult, and time is not on our side at the present. This is our new normal and it is what it is.  Trying to stay positive and hopeful to what another day could bring. Being with family and enjoying time together.
