Mumbai's Ballerinos <-- watch video and read article here!
You've been following their story, and its not over yet! Amir, 15 years, and Manish, 21 years, were originally offered paid-in-full scholarships to train at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. After being denied visas, they have not lost hope. They have now been offered one year full scholarships to train at the Oregon Ballet Theater. They've already begun the visa process and have only been training HARDER to reach their dreams and pursue careers in ballet.
Amir and Manish are from the slums of Mumbai and have spent 40+ hours every week for the last two years training in classical ballet with Israeli ballet master Yehuda Ma'or. They are making history for their country and the dance world, being some of the first male ballet dancers to come from India.
Amir has an incredible talent and potential to be the first professional male ballet dancer from India. He is truly in line to be the next generation's "Misty Copeland"--a history maker in the world of ballet.
Manish also has the talent and work ethic to become one of India's first ballet master teachers. With this training, he can return to his homeland to train and raise up a new generation of ballet dancers.
Amir & Manish need your help purchasing their flights to the United States & with living expenses!
The only thing stopping them from pursuing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is the money needed to purchase flights as well as to help with living expenses such as accomodations, food, and transportation. They need your help to continue this journey to the US.
Their gratitude is beyond words--your gift of $10, $50, or even $100, is life-changing. Thank you for making this dream a reality!
