A service dog for my type 1 diabetic
Diabetes alert dogs offer those with diabetes greater freedom to improve their quality of life by alerting ahead of time that a blood sugar increase or decrease is impending. By giving the parents time to take precautions, this helps prevent serious injuries from falls and other related potentially life threatening complications.
On June 9th we rushed my daughter to the hospital. She was losing weight fast, sleeping a lot and was very withdrawn in her face. This all happened in a blink of a eye.
Sophia was admitted to the pediatric ICU in severe DKA with a blood sugar over 700. We spent 4 days there.
My Beautiful daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes & I thank god everyday my baby is home and alive. The doctor said another day or two we wouldn’t have been so lucky.
Our lives have been turned upside down and we spend everyday 24/7 worrying about our daughter.
Getting a service dog would give us a sense of security for my daughters life and a friend constantly by her side to experience life’s amazing moments.
These funds would help with the cost of the dog, training, vet bills & travel accommodations when we go train alongside Wally & take him back to his forever home with us. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
