Andrew M. Matter Memorial Scholarship Fund

On April 28, 2023, our dear colleague and friend Lauren Matter lost her son. Andrew M. Matter was 18 years old. Our hearts go out to Lauren in this difficult time.

Andrew graduated from GCIT in the year 2022 from the Culinary Arts Academy and the Law Enforcement Academy. He was a first-year business student at Rowan College of South Jersey while lifeguarding for Gloucester County Institute of Technology. His loved ones will tell you that pets and food were his everything. He was a good friend to many, lighting up the room with his jokes and charismatic personality. Andrew loved all things outdoors. Hunting, fishing, scouting, and even landscaping. Andrew proudly achieved the ranking of Eagle Scout after completing his Eagle project improving Mullica Hill Pond.

If you choose to contribute, your donation will help ensure that Andrew’s memory lives on through this scholarship, and that young people have the opportunity to pursue their passions and achieve their dreams.

The money raised will go directly to the Andrew Matter Scholarship Fund Award. A GCIT Senior will be recognized annually to receive a $1,000 award in honor and memory of Andrew (more details to come). If we exceed the $5,000 goal, all funds raised will go to future scholarship awards every year.
