Tragedy comes when you least expect it and death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Yesterday my beautiful best friend Jessica lost her amazing husband Drew unexpectedly and as you can fathom, has shaken her world and that of those of us who love Drew and Jess as well as the girls. The signs may have been there to some extent pointing to the fact that something may have been wrong with Drew's health but time waits for no one. It all happened so quickly. It was a long and exhausting day for Jess as she waited and waited only to be left to make decisions she would rather not make if she had the choice. Late last evening Drew got the ultimate gift of going home to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. He's in the arms of Jesus. Now is the time where we as friends, family and loved ones need to step in and step up, as her angels here on earth, to surround Jessica and the girls with love and to help care for them and the financial burden that they are now faced with. Caring for the widow and the fatherless is not just what God does, its who he is. Lets us be Jesus to this precious family as they navigate chartered waters ahead. Jess and Drew bought a home and moved in last year. I would love nothing more than to help them be able to remain in the home as well as help with other necessary costs that come with losing a spouse and their income. In a time of need everyone wants to know how to help and friends, this is the best way to show your care and concern for Jessica right now. Lets all come together and do everything we can to ensure she can focus on what she needs to as she will be caring for the home, the bills, her adorable mini zoo and all the things Drew did that she will now be responsible for.
