Angela's Fight to Beat Cancer!
Donation protected
This is Angela Colonna. Aside from being the love of my dad's life, she's also a full time mom, grandma and wine connoseuir. Those that know her know she is a feriously strong, independent, and loving person.
The month of February changed her life forever. Diagnosed with Renal Carcinoma, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of doctors visits, hospital stays and emotions. On the 16th of February, doctors went in and removed a tumor growth on her kidney. Due to the size of the tumor and location on the kidney, both the tumor and kidney were removed as a result.
While in the hospital to remove the tumor, a CT scan revealed growths on her lungs as well. To combat this, doctors are suggesting a course of IL-2 treatments. IL-2 (Interleukin 2 ) is a type of chemotherapy treatment designed to target Renal Carcinoma specifically. Due to the intense side effects of the treatments, Angela will have to stay in the hospital for 5-7 days while they adminster the medication. After she is released, she will get a week off before having to return for the next treatment for a total of 8 weeks.
Angela has fought and continues to fight to stay afloat during this time, but financial expenses continue to mount. She will not be able to return to work for at least 8 weeks during the treatment, and the deductible for the year before insurance will kick in is $4,000.
Please take a moment to donate (anything helps!).
Alleviating some of these financial burdens while she is undergoing treatments would be more helpful than words can say. She has not been back to work since mid-February, and continues to be unable to work until she is in remission. Please remember anything at all helps. The amount I came to was considering: co-pays ($55 every time she has to see her doctor because he's a specialist), driving expenses, insurance deductibles, household bills not covered from lost wages, prescriptions and medical bills.
Please continue to send prayers and positive thoughts their way as she continues to fight this disease. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or insight you might have.
